Online Buteyko Breathing Courses by Dr. Artour
I provide individual and small-group online courses in the Buteyko breathing method for students worldwide. These sessions are conducted via online apps (Microsoft Teams / Zoom / WhatsUp / Telegram / Messenger / etc.) or phone.
With over 25 years of teaching experience and as the author of 12 books on breathing and health, my work is highly practical and focused on measurable results: improved breathing, better sleep, increased energy, and reduction or elimination of symptoms.

* All sales are final – no refunds are made. Note about hourly fees: If you are concerned about these fees, compare them with rates charged by medical specialists and health professionals, as well as their long-term success rates in treating chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, or sleep disorders. Students who successfully achieve normal breathing always experience major health improvements.

This website is primarily designed for independent (DIY) learning. However, many people require additional guidance due to complex health conditions or lack of progress when working alone.
If you feel that you would benefit from personal guidance, select the appropriate option from the table above and send your request for online classes with all relevant details about your health.
How to apply for online and live breathing classes
Requirements and details:
– You need to know all basics related to breathing physiology, oxygen delivery, CO2 effects, lifestyle factors, and how breathing retraining works before we start the course. You have three options to learn the basics:
1. Dr. Artour’s live lecture or workshop.
3. The YouTube Playlist: Dr. Artour Intro: Breathing Retraining and Buteyko Method (NormalBreathing.com).
– For serious or severe health problems, you should expect to invest at least 2 hours of breathwork and 2 hours (later up to 3 hours) of physical exercise daily to achieve progress in breathing retraining. Working or studying individuals should aim to dedicate at least 2 hours per day to combined physical activity and breathing exercises.
– You need to provide all the required details in the form and send the completed form with your email:
– If you are applying for any type of health query or health support by Dr. Artour, limit your email to 200 words. – Make sure that you write ” Online Breathing Lessons” as the subject line (RE:) of your email – Send your email to: “dr.artour.rakhimov” + “@gmail.com”.
Note that online courses and live classes are normally taught once per week (often on the same day of the week) with no more than 10-14 days between consecutive lessons. I simply cannot hold details of all lifestyle details for a particular online student whom I do not see or interact with for more than 10-14 days.
Online Mini-course and Customized Planning
This is the most popular type of support among my online students. It is especially useful for people who tried to learn the Buteyko method on their own (DIY), but were unable to make sufficient progress due to complex health problems or other difficulties.
To begin the Mini-course, make a payment below and send me an email requesting help. I will then send you the Student Questionnaire (Personal Information Form) and a form for recording your breathing sessions. After you complete and return these forms, you may also send me your daily log, including details of your breathing exercises, morning CPs, lifestyle changes, daily physical exercise, and other relevant information.
After analyzing these details, I will prepare a customized action plan for you, usually including 5 to 12 lifestyle changes and practical steps directly related to breathing normalization.
This option includes:
- Two online sessions, each 50 minutes long, spaced about 7-10 days apart
- A short follow-up online session (20 minutes) about a week later. Please do not delay this follow-up class for more than 2 weeks, since such delays are counterproductive for student progress and make it harder for me to keep all personal details in mind.
- Email support for the following 2 weeks for simple questions that can be answered with “yes” or “no”
This type of teaching usually requires an additional 2-3 hours of my work to study the details of your health and prepare a program specifically for your needs.
If you need more guidance or more detailed answers, you can book extra classes or a longer course. This option can be highly effective and sufficient for major health improvements, especially when the student has already studied and applied many lifestyle changes and practiced breathing exercises, preferably with the Frolov or Amazing DIY breathing device.
If you have not yet learned the basic Buteyko theory—such as CO2 effects, positive and negative lifestyle factors, the CP test, and the principles of breathing retraining—I would need to spend more time explaining these fundamentals, which makes my work less efficient. Therefore, this Mini-course works best when the student has already studied the basic materials on this website, in my books, and in the Learning Modules, and has already started initial changes in breathing habits, such as CP measurement, mouth taping at night, sleep position changes, and practice with a breathing device.
Individual Online Course
The Individual Course can be taken in a partial format (5 hours) or as a complete course (about 7–7.5 hours in total, typically 5 lessons of about 1.5 hours each). Sessions are conducted online or via a landline phone.
If you decide to take a breathing retraining course, it is highly beneficial to first become familiar with the fundamentals of the Buteyko method. The better prepared you are, the fewer hours you may need and the more effective the course will be.
You can study the basics using materials from this website, my YouTube videos, or my book: electronic book “Oxygenate yourself: breathe less”.
Important topics include: breathing patterns and body oxygenation, CO2 effects, the CP test, the Buteyko method, course requirements, and the impact of lifestyle factors on health and breathing.
Live or Online Group Lessons (Level 2)
Group lessons include 5 sessions of about 2 hours each, along with 1–2 individual (one-on-one) sessions, for a total of approximately 11–12 hours.
Online groups are limited to a maximum of 7 participants to ensure sufficient individual attention. It is also possible to organize live group courses if I am visiting your area or if you invite me to conduct a workshop.
Typically, at least 5 fully registered participants are required to form a group. Please see the section below titled “Invite me to visit your area and have a workshop/course” for more details.
Advanced Course
The Advanced Course is designed for students who already have significant progress, typically with a morning CP of 30 seconds or more, reduced sleep needs (often less than 6.5 hours), and other signs of improved health.
The main goal of this course is to further increase the morning CP to over 50 seconds and achieve deeper levels of health and breathing normalization.
Further support
Further support is available via email for up to one month for students who have completed a course. Students who completed the Mini-course receive limited support (typically 1–2 short email exchanges).
Please note that email support is intended only for simple questions that can be answered briefly (for example, “yes” or “no”).
Buteyko Practitioner Training (30 s<CP<60 s)
Buteyko Practitioner Training (BPT) is available for qualified students who maintain a CP above 30 seconds throughout the day (24/7). This course is intended for trainees whose CP is below 60 seconds.
Buteyko Practitioner Training (CP>60 s)
This advanced BPT course is designed for students who consistently maintain a CP above 60 seconds (including the morning CP).
You can view video testimonials from breathing teachers I have trained here: Training of Buteyko practitioners.
Additional details about practitioner training are available on that page, as well as in this overview: Buteyko Breathing Practitioner Review.
Family members
Following the traditions of Soviet/Russian Buteyko doctors, family members are welcome to join the same course or classes together with the primary student.
The fee for each family member is 50% of the fee paid by the main student. For Individual Courses, there is also an option to pay 400 USD (partial) or 600 USD (full course) for each additional family member.
Click the link below (BUY NOW) and select your preferred option inside the ContentShelf platform.
You can pay less or nothing (even for practitioner training): exchange for your work
I have books, articles, and web pages that require proofreading, as well as videos that I plan to create.
If you are a native English speaker, have relevant skills, or can help with video creation, editing, or promotion, we can arrange an exchange: you contribute your work, and I support you in improving your CP and health.
This can include proofreading, content editing, video production, social media promotion, or other useful contributions.
You can find more details here: Exchange Options.
You may also explore this option: breathing practitioner training in exchange for your work (this option may also include financial compensation).
Invite me to visit your area and have a workshop/course
I am available for live lectures, workshops, seminars, and collaboration in breathing education.
If there are 5 or more people in your area interested in a course, I can potentially travel and organize a live training (depending on location, distance, and course fees).
Based on the experience of Dr. Buteyko and his medical colleagues, the most effective format is one class per week for about 5 weeks. Most of my courses follow this structure.
I do not generally recommend short “crash courses” over a single weekend. However, it is possible to organize 3 longer workshops (about 5–6 hours each), spaced every 2–3 weeks.
If you cannot gather enough participants, I may still be able to travel if you organize 2 public lectures in your area (for example, in community centers, schools, colleges, or universities) with at least 10 motivated attendees.
In such cases, I can offer you a percentage of the fees paid by other participants.

Hello, Dr. Artour. Can I contact you somehow? I have a few questions because I would like to have some courses with you, but my CP is about 20s and I don’t know which course is good for me. That one course looked nice to me, but it is from the 30s to 60s, so it may not be for me. Can I talk with you about this somehow or somewhere? Thanks for the reply.

Hello Artour,
Would you be able to help me? I am not sure what to pay or apply for help. I am a 56-year-old Irish woman with years of chronic health problems, including asthma, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, allergies, migraine, gut problems, insomnia, etc. My CP this morning was 4, following about 3 hours of sleep throughout the night. I look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you very much for your explanation. I bought your book and have now made a DIY device and will start using it.
Also, my apologies for putting my same question on the ‘CO2 effects’ page, as I thought this request had disappeared.
On 2016-11-22T14:08:30, Artour (mod) wrote:
You have CO2 retention in the blood, but alveoli have too little CO2, and that prevents their recovery.
With Buteyko exercises or after using breathing devices (Frolov or DIY), people with ventilation-perfusion mismatch get higher blood oxygenation as measured by pulse oximetry. That proves that their blood CO2 starts to go down towards the norm, while blood O2 increases – walking 2-3 times more and faster in a few days with no shortness of breath.

I have severe emphysema and accompanying ‘CO2 retention’. As I already store too much CO2, is the Buteyko method still appropriate, and likely to improve my symptoms and health?
Thank you for this very informative and extensive website.

Hi, Artour. I trust you are well. Do you have any practitioners in New Zealand? I am keen to get some study of the Buteyko methods and to fix my own breathing at the same time. I will look through more of your teachings in the meantime. There are many asthma and allergy sufferers in this country. Happy to contact you if you drop me a reply. Best regards, Steve
