
If health is your concern, then this is an absurd statement. Why? Because you breathe in accordance with physiological laws due to influences of various factors: metabolic needs, physical activity, meals, thermo conditions, posture, thoughts and emotions, and innumerable physiological and biological processes in your body.
Only those people, who deliberately change their breathing (e.g., by doing special breathing exercises), breathe as they like during some part of the day (from minutes up to several hours every day). Most of the time, we cannot breathe as we like: we are subject to the laws of Nature.
Hence, it would be good to know these laws, how we should breathe, and which life-style factors influence our breathing and how.
